About Your Business:

Business Challenge:

A challenge faced by almost all tax consulting/tax preparation businesses is the question of how to generate revenue during the time from April 16 through the end of the year. An initial solution that seemed promising was to bill hourly for consultations with people just starting their businesses, providing client-specific recommendations regarding topics such as business-entity selection. The difficulty with this is that most people when they first start their businesses are operating on a very limited budget. Many of these entrepreneurs are understandably slow to shell out a significant amount of cash for a consultation.

Solution:

Realizing there was a huge demand for tax-related information for people starting new businesses, I had the thought that the obvious way to package that information into a budget-friendly option was to write (and self-publish) a book. The initial idea was to simply generate revenue by offering an easy-to-understand (and short enough to read) tax guide for new business owners. What I hadn't fully realized while I was writing was how useful the book would be in promoting my other services.
