What Inspired Your Business:
Ms. Magee founded Quality Consulting and Billing in 1997 as a business that would support and assist other businesses. Today, this is still the firm's primary focus. In assisting small businesses with all the resources available, they will have the right tools to develop and grow their businesses successfully. Quality Consulting and Billing consults with businesses and guides them by teaching them about the business fundamentals and provides them with those resources.
Most Unusual Client, or Client Story:
My best client story over all is a local electrician came to me with his wife on August 2005 looking at starting his own electrical business. He wanted me to train his wife on bookkeeping practices, QuickBooks, the whole nine yards. The catch was she had never touched a computer. I saw this as a long term engagement. A year and a half later, she is fluent in QuickBooks and Bookkeeping practices, still comes to see me for at least 3 hours a week. Did I mention that their revenues are in the millions! It is a story that always warms my heart knowing that I was a critical part of their success.
Recent Business Surprise:
We had a client that emailed me late one night, the day before Intuit was to discontinue his version of QuickBooks. Without his QuickBooks he was not able to submit merchant transactions or payroll. His business would be shut down as a result. After reading his panicked email, I called him that night. He had a severely corrupted QuickBooks file due to poor wireless connections, and he needed onsite assistance. I sent one of my consultants out and she corrected all but one of the corrupted files. The one that she could not fix was because she could not find it…Inuit said it was a ghost invoice and that they would have to start a new QuickBooks file. The client was looking for different software, he was really in a panic by noon. I told my consultant to bring a copy of the file back to our office where we had all the other versions from 2004 to 2007 and update them one by one. Sure enough, when she updated to 2005 and performed a rebuild, the “ghost invoice” that was causing a problem was not visible, and we were able to correct the invoice and completely update him to 2007. This was accomplished in one day and it was not something that would have happened without the experience of Quality Consulting and Billing.
