Business Description:

The purpose of my company is to help you and your business pay the lowest taxes allowed by law. I offer professional tax return preparation, tax planning, tax repair (filing late returns, amended returns, etc.) and full service payroll and bookkeeping for individuals and small businesses throughout the United States.

About Your Business:

What Inspired Your Business: The overwhelming desire to want to help individuals and small businesses become financially secure and successful. The way I can help this effort best is to make sure they are paying the lowest amount of taxes allowed by law. In order to pay the lowest taxes you must have accurate books of records; thus in addition to being a CPA I am also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Most Unusual Client, or Client Story: One client dropped off his brown grocery bag full of receipts and on the top of it was a large Excedrin tablet...down at the bottom, under all the receipts were two little airline bottles of whiskey.

Recent Business Surprise: My company was featured in USA Today.

My Most Interesting/Challenging Business Problem:

Finding Customers

Business Challenge:

Building a client base from scratch in a town on only 2,000 people.

Solution:

Tax preparation, planning, repair and payroll are all services that do not need to be done at the client's office; therefore my solution was to expand my potential client base past my town. The Internet makes this solution possible and has been my greatest resource for new clients. My new clients have mainly come from the following sources: 1. Existing client referrals 2. Inquiries from the regular Tax Tips articles that I write for my local newspaper 3. Inquiries from tax presentations that I have made at conferences, seminars and forums held by independent event organizations, associations, professional and industry trade groups, and academic institutions 4. My website and related blog where I post the Tax Tips articles I write for my local paper as well as answer readers questions
